What is Committee?

Each local area has a committee of adults who believes in the mission of Young Life: to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and to help them grow in their faith. You'll find adults from all different backgrounds, careers and churches. The committee, comprised of parents, Young Life alumni and civic leaders, provides a foundation of financial, administrative and moral support for the local Young Life team. Many of the Committee Members of Young Life: Impacting Hearts have been around from the beginning!

Thomas Caldwell

In 2006 Tom Caldwell felt inspired to obey the Great Commission after taking the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement missions class at Bel Air Presbyterian Church.  Some friends from the class said why go to Indonesia when we can reach unreached peoples right here in Los Angeles.  God lead these three friends to evangelize to the foster youth in Los Angeles and Impacting Hearts was born.
Tom is an experienced commercial real estate transactional attorney, whose clientele includes a broad spectrum of national and local investors, funds, developers, operators, syndicators, private equity providers and nonprofits.  He also practices estate planning for high net worth clients.  Previously he was in house counsel for Pepperdine University and Guitar Center, Inc. and was in private practice. He graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Finance and a minor in International Business. His Juris Doctor degree was obtained from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2005.  Additionally, Tom graduated from the Pepperdine’s Graziadio School of Business Management with a Masters of Business Administration.  Tom sits a number of local nonprofit boards and his website can be found at www.caldwelllaw.us.
